Archiving from Work 10

What a user sees, what rights control it, and what the request looks like afterwards.

A user right-clicks a workspace, folder or document in Work 10 and chooses Archive/Restore, then Archive.

Scope

  • Workspace — every document in it is archived, regardless of client and matter.
  • Folder — the root folder and every sub-folder beneath it.
  • Documents — one or more selected individually.

What gates it

The iManage GroupID named in ArchiveGroup decides whether the menu option appears. ArchiveProcessPermissions.AllowArchive must also be set, or nothing proceeds regardless of rights.

What the user chooses

  • The destination, when more than one location is registered.
  • The workspace security to apply after a successful export — commonly Private for a closed matter.

Note The only structural difference from the automated path is at the top of the flow. RuleName is null, CreatedBy names a person and Priority is 1000.
