The Two Delete Options
What each delete instruction removes, and which one cannot be undone.
Deleting removes the archived copy from the storage target. Depending on the instruction, it may also remove the content from iManage.
| DeleteInstruction | What it removes | Reversible |
|---|---|---|
Archive | The archived copy only. The stub stays in iManage. | No — the archived copy is gone |
| iManageANDArchive | The archived copy and the iManage workspace, folder or document. | No |
Warning iManageANDArchive deletes the workspace, its folders and its documents along with the archive. There is no undo. Restrict DeleteGroup accordingly and decide who at the firm is permitted to use it.
From Work 10
The right-click menu offers Delete Archive Only and Delete iManage and Archive. Only users with the appropriate rights see either. The same two options appear in the DMSync Web client.
What gates it
DeleteGroup grants the menu options. ArchiveProcessPermissions.AllowDelete must also be set.
Where deletions are recorded
Warning Deletions audit to DeleteArchiveAudit, not to ArchiveAudit. Troubleshooting a deletion uses a different join from troubleshooting an archive or a restore.
