Rights and Groups
The four iManage groups, the global master switch above them, and the mistake that breaks both.
The four groups
| Setting | Grants |
|---|---|
ArchiveGroup | Archiving from Work 10 and DMSync Web |
| RestoreGroup | Restoring directly |
| RequestRestoreGroup | Requesting a restore by email, without the ability to perform one |
| DeleteGroup | Both delete options |
Warning These are iManage GroupIDs, not group names. They must exist in iManage, and they cannot contain spaces. Getting this wrong is a frequent setup defect and presents as menu options simply not appearing.
The master switch
ArchiveProcessPermissions is a single-row table holding three flags: AllowArchive, AllowRestore and AllowDelete.
It sits above the group checks. Group membership decides who may act; these flags decide whether the operation is available at all. With AllowArchive off, no archive proceeds regardless of rules, rights or the Work 10 menu.
Note If archiving has stopped entirely and nothing appears in ArchiveRequests, check this table before anything else. It is a single row and it is easy to forget it exists.
