Entering a Restore Rule
How RestoreArchiveRules differs from ArchiveRules, and the loop that undoes your work.
RestoreArchiveRules follows the same column pattern as ArchiveRules, plus DefaultSecurity and Comments. It has no location column — the path comes from what was recorded at archive time.
It also has no ArchiveAfterDtUtc, so a restore rule runs as soon as it goes live. There is no scheduling window.
Warning A live ArchiveRules rule will re-archive whatever you restore. On one matter this was observed four times in two minutes: restore, re-archive, restore, re-archive. Disable the archive rule before restoring anything it matches.
This applies whether the restore came from a rule or from Work 10. The archive rule re-fires on its next poll either way, so a user can restore a matter and watch it become a stub again twenty-five seconds later.
Safe entry
Identical to an archive rule. Set Disable = 1 on every row until the rule is complete, or stop the service while you type.
