303 - Restoring from Work 10

Updated on

Restoring from Work 10

The user-initiated restore, what the dialog asks for, and what happens afterwards.

A user right-clicks an archived workspace, folder or document and chooses Archive/Restore, then Restore.

Scope

  • Workspace — every document still archived under it. Documents already restored individually are skipped.
  • Folder — the root folder and all sub-folders.
  • Documents — selected individually. The whole workspace does not need to be restored.

What gates it

RestoreGroup grants a direct restore. ArchiveProcessPermissions.AllowRestore must also be set. A user who holds only RequestRestoreGroup sees Request to Restore instead — see article 304.

What the user chooses

  • A comment, if RequireRestoreComment is on.
  • A Date to Archive Again, if RestoreArchiveDateRequired is on — capped by MaxDaysOnReArchive.
  • The workspace security to apply afterwards, commonly Public when reopening a matter.

Note If a Date to Archive Again was set, the matter is queued to archive itself again on that date. Check it before assuming a restore is permanent.
